Laramie Briscoe writes a low angst, small town romance that is just what I needed to read. Archer and Alisa are both new to Laurel Springs, and neither has had good examples of relationships in the past. Alisa is afraid to move forward with anyone because no one she loves sticks with her. Archer’s parents were poor examples, but we don’t get a lot of details there.
I really enjoy the way in which the small town works in this series, and we get to check in on past characters but they aren’t so in the face that you are lost if you haven’t read their stories. The background of Archer is where this story fell short for me. I wanted more… he references his upbringing but we never get more details into it. I liked the natural progression of Archer and Alisa’s relationship from friends to more.
