Review: Breaking the Speed Limit by Melanie Moreland
Rating: 4/5 PoP: 30% Reynold’s Restorations Book 2
Stefano is a designer/mechanic at Reynolds & Co. Restoration and Repair. He loves his job but is starting to feel like something may be missing. He is unwilling to admit that something may be a relationship until he meets Gabby. He comes to her rescue on the side of the road and sparks fly between them. Stefano is captivated but Gabby is more reserved despite their instant chemistry. Part of her hesitancy is that she is a single mom of four year old Theo, but the other part is more troubling. Eventually, Stefano and the crew at Reynolds and Co. convince her that she is a welcome addition to their lives. Theo is a very smart four year old that loves exploring the garage and becoming friends with everyone. Soon Stefano is ready to declare his love for Gabby, but her past interferes.
Stefano was an amazing book boyfriend from the start. He not only cared for Gabby but those that were important to her as well, including Theo. Gabby’s past is less than ideal and she has been running from it for so long on her own that she does not know how to accept help. She is a self sacrificing individual that never wants to be a burden. The side characters in this book were great. Not only did we get to see Charly and Maxx but Stefano’s family, the other people at the shop, and Gabby’s landlady were important to the story. This book delivered the insta-connection Melanie Moreland is known for and has enough suspense to keep the reader guessing. I disliked was the many “flashback” moments that were merely moments earlier in the day. I look forward to seeing what kind of trouble Kelly and Brett find in Book 3.
