When you dive into a sci-fi romance, you (and least I) don’t expect to be emotionally invested, but this series finisher got to me on so many levels.  Kara and Arik’s story was heartbreaking and heartwarming.  The entirety of Dakkar has been dealing with this unknown fog that is wreaking havoc on their world.  Kara is a hybrid that no one knew about previously because she has been hidden away in the temple but has been having visions of a man since she was small.  These two are truly destined to be together, and they know it, but when push comes to shove, Arik listens to those around him instead of what is in his heart.  This is when you want to smack Arik and smack him hard…the pain that Kara feels because of the connection they have is palpable. But she doesn’t allow this to stop her destiny… she doesn’t allow it to keep her from doing her duty to save their world.

This book wraps up the overarching storyline perfectly and I am sad to see this series end.  Zoey Draven has a way with words the world she created was dynamic and entertaining. This is a series that must be read in order, or you lose a lot of the introduction and storyline of the fog… but it is a series you won’t want to put down.
