Review: One Moment Please
French Silk Pie + hot angsty doctor+ random meet at the bar (plus some Birds and the Bees) = a surprise baby.
I loved every emotionally charged crazy moment of this adventure. Lynsey Jones and Dr. Josh Richardson (Dr. Dick) are more than I could even hope for. This was my first-time reading Amy Dawes and sometimes the secret/surprise baby trope can come off as cheesy, so I wasn’t sure what I was getting into reading this. It was so well done. I love that Lynsey was clueless at first to being pregnant. (I had similar experience.) I love that they were not automatically together. I am glad that there was some back and forth in the story. Also that once they decided to get to know each other and see where things went it was just insta lust forgone conclusion that they would be together, in any way.
I loved that Josh’s life experiences had him keeping everyone including his family at arm’s length. He tried to limit how much he cared. He was happier as an observer in order to protect those he loved. I liked that Lynsey while she comes off as being an optimist as far as love and the world goes, she isn’t blind to the face that that love and relationships don’t come without their trails and failures.
The supporting group in this book really help make it wonderful. I love Lynsey’s best friend Kate! She is so over the top. Dean is still a frat boy, total man child but he adds so much needed observations to the story line. OMG, seriously the parents! Both Lynsey and Josh’s parents are a hoot, I had hope for a little more of them appearing in the story line.
Secret/Surprise Baby is my All-time favorite trope. I love it so much! This was a solid 4.5/5 read for me. The supporting characters help move the story along. I had moments of out loud laughter and tears. Just a fun and crazy read!
