Review: Cocky Catch by Chiquita Dennie

Chiquita Dennie is a new to me author.  I really enjoyed her writing style.  She is a very descriptive writer and I enjoyed it tremendously.  Her writing really creates a community of characters.  There were a lot of names, but it wasn’t terrible to keep track of who’s who. They all add value to the story and to the development of characters.

Gage Young – All-star catcher for the New York Raptors. Single dad to 8 year old little girl.  Son of weather real estate developers.

Nina Mitchell- Former All-star softball player. Softball coach to Tailynn Young.  Helps run her family’s community center.

This was a quick, entertaining read that engages you from the beginning.  I love single parent stories and this was a very well done example. I enjoyed Gage and Nina’s interactions. You can feel the chemistry coming off the pages.

Keeping track of supporting characters was at times overwhelming. But overall, I enjoyed this story. There were also a couple of conflicting descriptions about how tall Nina was that was distracting for me.

This was a well written, funny, romantic story with great characters.
This was a quick and easy read.  This is a 4/5 read for me.

Cocky Catcher takes place in the Stuck-Up Suit world.
