Review: Between the Sheets by Melanie Shawn

Rating: 4/5
Steam: 3/5
Angst:2/5
Tropes: Single Mom, Small Town, Rom-Com
Series: Southern Comfort #3 (Standalones)
POV: Dual 1st person

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Hank’s story. And it wasn’t what I was expecting. I adored Luna, the little daughter of the heroine Skylar. She is this bright ray of sunshine that is exactly what Hank needed in his life. His entire life has been taking care of his family, and now he broods alone and it is starting to get to him. However, until Luna and Skylar enter he life, he didn’t realize it. There is steam, there is missteps, there is Kevin Bacon (the pig), and of course the other Comfort siblings. There are those wonderful small town moments that the duo of Melanie Shawn always give us, and the side characters are wonderful.

My reasoning for a 4 star is because I felt like that revelation of Hank’s to his siblings was swept away a little too easy. I understand the reasoning behind it, but there has been so much build up surrounding this over-arching storyline that they were almost too quick to forget. Although, that does seem to be the Comfort way. You do not have to read books 1 and 2 to understand the story, but you should because Billy and Jimmy’s stories are wonderful. I look forward to the lone Comfort sister, Cheyenne.
