This book, there are so many emotions in this book. The Resting Warrior Ranch is a place where people go to heal but feel safe doing it. Lucas has been dealing with PTSD as well as emotional turmoil from his upbringing. Together he and his friends, have created this safe space for people to learn to deal with the fallout of their traumas. Evelyn is a woman who has been on the run for years. And when you read about the terrible things she was put through, you want to pull her in and hug her tight. There are so many hard moments, but light moments as well. This entire book treats a person’s traumas as something that molds them but doesn’t define them. It puts emphasis the healthy benefits to different types of therapies, and I had a bit of an emotional book hangover when this book was finished This is an amazing start to a new series.
