HARD FALL by Brenda Rothert & Kat Mizera is part of the new St. Louis Mavericks hockey romance series and it just went live this week!

To say that I have been eagerly waiting for this book is an understatement, you know I love a great hockey romance series! I had heard from fellow book friends that this was a very emotional read. And boy was it ever. Once I started this book, I really did not want to put it down but I also didn’t want it to end. Because truth be told, I adored these characters.

That all being said, I wish that I had the words to adequately give this book the justice that it deserves.  I sobbed almost the whole way through this book, but in the best possible way.  Wes and Hadley’s story is emotional, heartwarming and beautiful.  The love that these characters share is soul deep.  But what I think I loved more was the way friendships played such a prominent role in this whole book.  It is a perfect representation that love comes in all forms.  While they are navigating crippling grief they are also experiencing love like they have never felt.  

If you are looking for a well written and emotional read look no further than this book.  The entire St. Louis Mavrick’s stole my heart, and I am not sad about it.  I adored the comradery, their bond with each other and their families, and of course their sense of humor.  Simply, I adored them and I cannot wait for each of their stories to be told.  

I finished this book almost almost two weeks, and in all honesty I think about it almost everyday.  To me, that is a true testament to the writing, and the amazing characters that Rothert & Mizera crafted.  I know you will love Wes & Hadley.  But, be warned you will need a lot of kleenex.  Wes & Hadley experience grief in such a real way that your heart will break for them.  This is definitely a Top 5 book of 2021 for me.
