Covington Acres | Riley Hart
While reading this book I felt like I was sitting at dinner with two dear friends as they told their story, and I was enamored. Colby and Vince’s love blossomed from a deep friendship, and neither of them could have predicted the love that they shared with one another. This book was so heartwarming, and I never wanted it to end.
Hart really tackled some deep emotions and topics in this book as well, as Colby Covington at age 40 is really struggling with finding himself; and figuring out what he wanted from life. I immediately adored Colby and my heart hurt for him as he worked hard to find his way to partnership, love, and his dreams. While some might question how at 40 he wasn’t sure what he was doing career wise was for him and that he has never been in love. Colby’s journey really shows readers that everyone’s path is not that same, and that just because you are a certain age doesn’t mean that you cannot find happiness or love.
Vince has such a kind and gentle soul. I love how he always seemed to know what to say and how to set people at ease, especially Colby. Vince certainly battled a lot of loss and heartbreak to get to his place in Briar County, and I love how the Covington family welcomed him providing him with a giant loving family he always wanted.
Friends to lovers has long been a favorite trope of mine, and this is the exact reason. Colby and Vince’s relationship evolved from friends to more. The gentle way that Vince and Colby explored Colby’s newly found bi-sexuality felt so natural, and never ever forced and the touching and affection just was perfect. If you enjoy friends to lovers with a lot of emotions, deep connection, a lot of character growth, amazing family and friends then this book definitely needs to be on your radar. Another amazing book in one of my favorite series!
