Anti-Hero | Sara Cate
Well folks, Sara Cate once again gifted readers with an amazing, sexy, angsty, and gritty romance. Off the bat I was so intrigued by this book as it involves the church and… other establishments. Sage and Adam’s journey to their HEA was hard fought and a bumpy ride with a lot of obstacles. But this duo also had a lot of supporters. First off, their meet cute was seriously amazing, and gave readers such an amazing peek into who Adam and Sage are as people.
Sage might be one of my favorite heroines I have read in a really long time. She is open minded, smart, a hard worker, and incredibly kind. While Sage has not had the best life she has made her life her own and built an incredible found family.
Adam struck me as the classic goody to shoes, one always striving to do things perfectly. But it wasn’t a show, he wanted his actions to match his words. And for that reason people respected him. While it appears Adam comes from an amazing family and has it all…things are not always what they seem.
There is an old saying, practice what you preach, and when those that preach one way and act a different way it makes those that follow them second guess themselves. When both Sage and Adam’s lives are rocked by those they trusted the most, they seek each other out as support. I adored how Adam paved his own path, he struggled a bit with real over fake, but in the end followed his heart, which never led him astray.
To say I am anxious for the next book in this series is a huge understatement! I thoroughly enjoyed much of the Goode family, Melanie especially. I am so looking forward to this series and where Cate is going to take the Goode family and series.
