A Curse of Beasts and Magic by Jeaniene Frost

A fierce heroine, a world of secrets, and a cliffhanger that left me eager for more.

A Curse of Beasts and Magic opens on an action scene and never really lets up. I was pulled in from the first page and didn’t want to stop.

Raine is such a compelling heroine. She has learned to live with the Beast inside her, channeling its power to help people instead of letting it consume her, and that balance makes her impossible not to root for. As she uncovers a hidden world of mythical creatures, each revelation pulls you deeper. She is fierce, complicated, and unforgettable.

Remy is her perfect match. He is keeping secrets (I’m not saying a word), and that tension carries through their dynamic. Their chemistry is immediate and built on something rarer than attraction. Genuine respect. The Beauty and the Beast elements are woven in without overshadowing what makes their story uniquely theirs. Most of the story is set in Baltimore, but the glimpses into other realms expand the scope without losing focus.

Jeaniene Frost’s signature gritty urban fantasy style is fully present here. If you have read her before, this will absolutely hit, and if you have not, this is a perfect place to start.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, one that leaves you eager rather than devastated. I am already counting down to the next book.
