Griffin Harvey is the guitar guy. He’s a famous musician who has run out of ideas for his music. With custody of his two-year-old daughter, their days are filled with songs about shapes and counting. Beverly is happy in the background, running the puppets and getting kids to laugh. But when the nonprofit she works for runs out of money, she decides to take it on herself to try to relaunch the classic kids show that went out and all of a sudden she and Griffin are back in her hometown working together to revitalize a show they both care about and he’s hoping to get his spark back in the process.
To be honest, I was nervous to start this one! I’ve been burned by rockstar romances before and feel like sometimes I don’t get the payoff I’m hoping for. Love Felt Like This came together in such a big way in my mind I couldn’t put it down. When I couldn’t read, I was listening and when I had downtime I picked the book right back up. Beverly felt so genuinely real I could picture her like I knew her personally. The tension between her and Griffin was raw and desperate in the best way. Because you know what I haven’t mentioned yet? On top of all the flirting they do all by themselves, they’re in a fake relationship too and pretty soon nothing feels fake anymore.
I’m such a sucker for a scorching romance and the moment where the MMC bursts in out of breath with a ‘sorry I’m late’ when we weren’t expecting him. Griffin and Beverly are stunning and my celebrity visuals did me a lot of favors this time.
