Julian | Sawyer Bennett & Bill Keenan

Another hit from the Bennett & Keenan duo! Once again the inner workings of hockey, the gamy mechanics, the analytics and the technical parts of the game shined in this book! The business side of hockey was not at all glossed over and that was refreshing because Julian after all is the owner! Julian Langley loves hockey but he is also an astute business man as well having his hands in all sorts of businesses and playing an integral role in the Vipers organization.  Julian has a natural way of noticing other people’s talent and getting them into spaces where they can shine; he is also a people person making it a point to know the names of people that work for him.  When Harper so quickly provides him a solution to an issue that the organization is facing he was intrigued and honestly for good reason! Harper is so dynamic- she has a way of noticing things around her and really understands people. Harper is also very selfless thinking of others before herself- she took in her little brother, Dylan because that was what was best for him even though it didn’t make her life easier. 

I thoroughly enjoyed how Julian and Harper sort of danced around their feelings for one another and the lengths that Julian would go to just to be near Harper. As their feelings grew and their emotional connection intensified Julian got a little cold feet and his past revealed itself all of Julian’s hesitations became clear. I was also fortunate enough to have the audiobook as well, and let me tell you Lucy Rivers and Lee Samuels did an amazing job of bringing Harper and Julian to life- their inflection was spot on. If you like a billionaire with a good heart, some amazing banter, strong heroine, and a found family this book and series is one I would recommend! I am most definitely hooked on the Vipers series and I cannot wait for what is next!
