The Sailor by Susan Stoker
A steady, small-town romance about trust, family, and finding your place.
The Sailor is another solid entry in Susan Stoker’s Alpha Cove series, pairing a former Navy cook with a lobsterwoman determined to prove herself in a male-dominated field. Zach and Marit connect quickly, but their relationship is built on steady support and mutual respect, which made their story easy to sink into.
I couldn’t help but root for Marit. She works hard and refuses to let others define what she’s capable of. I especially liked seeing her welcomed into Zach’s family and getting a glimpse of the support she’s been missing. The strong family dynamic continues to be one of my favorite parts of this series.
Zach is a steady, supportive hero who shows up when it matters. I liked how they worked as a team when things turned tense. I really enjoyed the coastal Maine setting and small-town community, and I’m looking forward to Linc’s book next.
