Zomromcom by Olivia Dade

A campy paranormal romp with heart, humor, and a few hiccups.

Zomromcom had a fun concept and a promising start, but the execution didn’t quite land for me. I usually love Olivia Dade’s sharp banter and heartfelt characters, but here the humor started strong and then became repetitive and a little too over-the-top for me.

The grumpy vampire/sunshine human pairing had its moments, and I liked how Max and Edie worked together. I loved the plus-size representation and the found-family dynamic among the supernatural crew. But the story started to feel crowded with side characters, which made it harder to stay grounded in their relationship and the zombie plot.

Some threads are left unresolved to set up future books, which I’ll likely check out, but this one didn’t fully click for me.
