Witch of the Wolves by Kaylee Archer

When witchcraft meets wolf packs, nothing—and no one—is safe.

Witch of the Wolves is a strong start to Kaylee Archer’s new paranormal romance series, and I was hooked from the opening chapters.

Cordelia is a heroine I immediately connected with—she’s open, direct, and unwilling to let others make choices for her, even as she’s thrust into a world she barely understands. I really liked how her secrets were revealed bit by bit, keeping the pacing engaging without dragging things out. Bishop is more private than brooding, almost shy in moments, and his chemistry with Cordelia felt natural and well-balanced.

The Victorian-era setting gave the story atmosphere, and I enjoyed the pack politics woven throughout. There’s definite dissension and more than a little bloodshed, so fair warning—not everyone makes it out alive. While this one doesn’t end on a brutal cliffhanger, it leaves plenty of room for what’s next, and I’m especially eager to see the witch politics explored more in future installments.

With arranged marriage, secrets, and plenty of danger, Witch of the Wolves offers a fresh take on witch/werewolf lore. A solid beginning to the series, and I’ll definitely be continuing.
