Review: Penn by Sawyer Bennett

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Penn was everything I hoped for and more—and trust me, I’ve been waiting a long time for this book.

Penn Navarro has been a slow-burn mystery in the background of this series, and Sawyer Bennett absolutely delivered on the emotional payoff. He’s the grumpy, closed-off, haunted type I love, and his story hit all the right notes—intense, angsty, and ultimately, redemptive. And Mila? She’s strong, resilient, and exactly the kind of heroine who could meet Penn’s pain with grace and grit. I wanted to hug them both—and throw punches on their behalf.

The chemistry between Penn and Mila was palpable. Their shared past adds real depth to the story, and the emotional tension kept me hooked. The way their connection unfolds is a beautiful blend of slow healing, second chances, and earned intimacy. I appreciated that Penn’s growth wasn’t a dramatic 180—he’s still rough around the edges, and that felt authentic.

The supporting cast—especially the Titans and a surprise cameo from the Jamieson Force crew—added heart and humor, really driving home the “found family” vibe this series nails so well. Watching everyone rally around Penn and Mila made this even more special.

There are some heavy themes woven in, but they’re handled with care. I’d love to see more about the aftermath of a certain plot thread (no spoilers!), but overall, this was an emotionally satisfying read.

Also… Lucky’s book is next? YES PLEASE.
