Tropes: Enemies to Lovers • Opposites Attract • Angel x Demon • Crow Shifter • Forbidden Romance • Found Family • Forced Proximity • Amnesia/Memory Loss • Redemption Arc

💭 My Thoughts

This is the longest of the Hell Bent series, and sure—maybe it could’ve lost about a hundred pages—but I still had a fantastic time reading it. Aurora Ascher takes the slow burn between Heaven and Hell and turns it into pure emotional combustion.

Raum is the quiet, broody crow shifter with a soft spot for animals and an inconvenient case of memory loss. Sunshine is the angel trying (and failing) to keep her halo straight while blackmailing a demon. Together, they’re chaos wrapped in heavenly heat.

It took me a little longer to get into this one, maybe because there’s a lot of setup for Murmur’s (and hopefully Bel’s) book—but once the story hit its stride, I couldn’t put it down. Raum and Sunshine’s chemistry is scorching, and their redemption arcs hit all the right emotional notes.

Enemies to lovers? Say less. This book is tension, spice, and enough angst to power Hell’s entire grid. The ending had me yelling for book five, and I’m not even sorry about it.

💕 What I Loved

  • Raum’s obsession with shiny things (crow shifter perfection)
  • Sunshine’s badass warrior energy
  • Their forced proximity and blackmail setup
  • The found-family moments with the demon crew
  • Murmur’s setup 👀 (I need his story immediately)

Favorite Quotes

“She was like a crackling fire on a cold winter night. A hot bath for aching limbs. A lungful of mountain air after city pollution. Everything about her was inviting, but if she was a fire she was the one that would burn his house down.”

“Nothing was more important than her redemption, she mentally added…except him.”

“She was just so … pretty. Pretty and perfect. Shiny. And he loved shiny stuff. Of all the shit he’d stolen, all the treasure he’d ever collected, he coveted her the most.”

🖤 Final Verdict

Guardian Demon is a forbidden, fiery ride through redemption, temptation, and the blurred line between good and evil. Angels are falling, demons are catching feelings, and I am here for every sinful page.
