Lessons in Corruption | Deborah Garland
Cormac most definitely was a character that you love to dislike or at least be frustrated with. I was firmly in the “ in love with Cormac camp” because I read Debroah’s books out of order; and after reading Darragh’s book I couldn’t wait for this boon. And friends, I am happy to report that Cormanc redeemed himself! Cormac has been in a very dark place in his life but has done the hard work to become a better man and is trying so hard to become the person he wants to be. But Cormac really needed to forgive himself.
Scarlett loves so big and it is evident from the start. She lost her way a little mostly because of her grief, but was working to get her life back on the track that she had set for herself. I love how firm she was on the direction that she wanted her life to go and
From their meet cute, to the intense encounter to the reconnection- I was 1000% on team Scarlett and Cormac! They are most definitely an epic duo. They are both so smart, so driven, and their love of medicine and being doctors really shown throughout the book. Cormac and Scarlett have an intense connection and she is so gentle with him when he needs it but isn’t afraid to pose the hard questions and push him when he needs it. If you enjoy darker romances with alpha males and strong heroines this is the series for you! I am sad that the Astoria Royals series has come to a close but I know Deborah has more mafia goodness planned for us!
