Naima Simone’s Huntsman delivers a dark, inventive twist on the Snow White myth, set in a world of power, vengeance, and desire. Eshe Diallo commands every scene as a ruthless yet magnetic queen navigating a violent underworld. When her aunt places a bounty on her head, Eshe faces the one man who could destroy her—or become her undoing.

The chemistry between Eshe and Malachi is electric. Their connection balances danger and vulnerability in a way that feels raw and compelling. Simone’s take on the mafia underworld and fairy-tale elements works beautifully, creating a vivid, cinematic backdrop. Eshe’s “Seven” add depth and intrigue to the story, and Jamari, the hacker, is an easy standout I hope to see again in future books.

The pacing is sharp, the tension never lets up, and the emotional stakes are as high as the body count. Huntsman is a bold, unapologetically dark romance with heart, grit, and an unforgettable heroine.

I’m already looking forward to more stories set in The Hunted Kingdom.
