I went a little backwards down the Lani Lynn Vale rabbit hole and read the Second Generation Swat Books before anything else. So I am slowly going back through the original couples. I met Slate and Harleigh in Dax’s book and need to know their story. This has been on my TBR since, and when I was unsure of what to read and didn’t want to read books I needed to, I decided to dive back into this world. I adored Slate and all he stood for. Yes he made so not great decisions, but those decisions are what led him to Harleigh, and they decisions truly speak to his true character. Harleigh, I loved. She has her quirks and for good reason, and it made me love her even more when you hear about the why and how behind them. These two were destined to be together even though they have a little bit more angsty push and pull than some of Vale’s other books. I didn’t hate it though. I love visiting other couples and getting this moments of cross over between books. Lani Lynn Vale is always a go to for me now.
