Betrothed in Fury | Devon McCormack
Let me start off by saying that this book has everything that I love for mafia romances to have- it is dark, gritty, possessive, and the characters have feelings that sneak up on them! As the oldest son of the Wilde family Logan was left in charge after the death of his father. We meet Logan as he prepares for his fathers death and you feel his impending grief bone deep. Then, there is Killian Lorde. He most definitely is what I would consider an alpha-hole and someone you love but also maybe loathe…initally. He too, is the oldest of the Lorde family and put in charge. Both carry the heavy weight of their families, but also the legacy that their fathers built.
Killian and Logan balance one another, where one may seem impulsive while the other is calculating, but both are ruthless in their own way. They complement each other well, but quickly become a trusted confidant, friend and lover. Both allowing the other to see below their surface and exposing their true selves. They both challenge and support each other as they combine forces in the Atlanta underworld. The push pull of their relationship, the banter, the family dynamics had me on the edge of my seat, and I could not put this book down! What an amazing start to what I hope is a lengthy series where we get to spend more time with the Wilde and Lorde men! If you love a mafia romance that is dark, gritty and spicy this should most definitely be added to your kindle!
