Beautiful Crazy | A. James

When Ashley James announced a new pen name I knew I was going to be a fan! And her debut did not disappoint! I am a total sucker for a small town, and a beach side small town SIGN.ME.UP!!!
Gemma is a single mom to a precocious 5th grader boy, Sutton.  He definitely keeps her busy and she really never felt like her life was missing things- she has been busy being a mom and keeping her family going.  So when a hot new guy shows up and moves in next door she cannot stop thinking about Everett.

Everett is drawn to pick up and move across the country to the small beach town his grandmother called home, but he does.  Everett loves his job as a 5th grade teacher, so when he cannot stop thinking about his sweet single mom neighbor Gemma he doesn’t really hold back, even though she is the mother of one of his students.

Everett and Gemma had a magnetic energy that was palpable and readers could definitely feel it.  Both of these characters were such a pleasant surprise for me.  First off, Everett had the best dirty talking mouth I’ve read in a very long.  And their sexual chemistry was OFF the CHARTS! Wow- I thought my kindle was going to melt!  But the thing that I loved most about Everett and Gemma was the friendship, banter, and connection they had.  They also both always put Sutton first- they truly became a family. I think Gemma’s family and readers knew these two were in for the long haul before Gemma did. I simply loved spending time in the small town of Blossom Beach, South Carolina, humidity and all!

I was also fortunate to get the audio for this book and do yourself a favor and IMMEDIATELY download the audio because  Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais seriously knocked this one out of the park- I haven’t really ever been sure of duet style but this one sold me on it.  If you love small towns, meddling families, sassy banter, and a cinnamon roll with a dirty talking mouth this book definitely needs to be on your TBR (don’t forget the audio!)!!!
