Craving Sin | Riley Hart
I really should have been more prepared emotionally for this book because it’s a Riley Hart book, but I wasn’t. The way I was so immediately invested in both Rain and Abbot should be studied (LOL)! To say I was hooked is a huge understatement.
Dr. Preston Abbott is a well respected surgeon in Boston. He is reliable, notices people, and takes care of others. But that is really all he has- his work. It really felt like Abbott’s loneliness was palpable. Abbott has such a kind generous heart
Rain O’Shea is the boss of the O’Shea crime family in Boston, he also is lonely but in a very different way than Abbott. Rain is weighed down by his grief of losing his wife and the way he handled it with his son. Rain loves so deeply but doesn’t always outwardly show it. I really loved how similar he was to his son, Cillian.
Both Rain and Abbott are surrounded by people- people that they take care of and protect there isn’t anyone that really sees them; someone they can be themselves around. After Rain is injured during an attack he keeps Abbott hostage to keep him healthy but there is an undeniable connection between the pair even Rain’s right hand man can see it. Rain and Abbott open up to one another, build a friendship and begin to genuinely care about each other.
To say I was hooked from page one is an understatement. I have been looking forward to Rain’s story since the Sins of the Father series and it did not at all disappoint. This book is filled with an intense connection, found family, a fiercely protective hero, and another that is so kind and caring he brings the other to his knees. If you like your books a little dark with lots of emotions and a good amount of spice this book should be on your kindle!
