Gunner’s Mercy | Cala Riley
I have long been a fan of MC romances- they are gritty, have amazing found families and have one another’s backs. And oftentimes the MMC’s come off as the biggest alpha-jerks around but secretly have the most giant gooiest heart of them all and friends, Gunner (Pierce) checks all of those boxes. This gruff mechanic does not trust women, especially not women not aligned with the club. So when his best friend and President hires a 19 year old woman mechanic he loses his mind.
Sloane has not had an easy life- she is working hard with her mom to keep her family afloat and even with the two of them working hard it isn’t really working. Things are tight. But this girl knows cars and is a hard worker, so when Smoke takes her under his wing and she starts working in the Saints Outlaw’s Garage, her co-worker Gunner does not make it easy for her.
I love how things shifted for Sloane and Gunner, it wasn’t fast and it wasn’t all at once. And man did Gunner fight it. But it was clear that Gunner is a true caretaker and he thrives on caring for those he loves. Ever so slowly Sloane unknowingly broke down Gunner’s walls. And man oh man these two have some serious banter and chemistry! Cala Riley did not skimp on the spicy stuff- at all. These have a deep emotional connection and friendship but the chemistry between the sheets was a fiery inferno! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more from the Saints Outlaws- Pensacola chapter!
