Review: From Here to Eternity by A.L. Jackson
A.L. Jackson delivers a gripping and emotional start to her Moonlit Ridge series with From Here to Eternity. This romantic suspense had me hooked from start to finish, with twists and turns that kept me on my toes, and an ending that left my mind blown. Seriously, I never saw it coming!
River and Charleigh’s story is a perfect mix of heat, heartbreak, and healing. River is the ultimate morally grey hero—a tattoo artist with a dangerous side, a soft heart for his son Nolan, and a fierce protectiveness for Charleigh. Charleigh, on the run and grieving, finds solace in the found family River offers, which includes his adorable son and his sister, Raven. Their chemistry is undeniable, their connection feels fated, and their journey is equal parts steamy and gut-wrenching.
The themes of grief and survival are heavy, but Jackson balances them beautifully with moments of tenderness and hope. Charleigh and Raven’s bestie bond was a standout for me, as was Nolan, who completely stole my heart. And that touch her and die energy from River? Chef’s kiss.
While the story shines, the audiobook was disappointing. Poor editing and technical errors from Lyric Audio really took away from the experience. After multiple issues with this producer, I’ll think twice before grabbing another of their audiobooks.
