The Rookie and the Rockstar by Jiffy Kate
Why did I wait so long to read this book?? Don’t be like me. Go read it NOW!!
This is the perfect summer read set in New Orleans during baseball season.
Bo Bennett is a rookie for the New Orleans Revelers and he is fully focused on his career. Charlotte “Lola” Carradine is a rockstar focused on writing her next album. They have a chance meeting at a charity gala and sparks fly. Neither one is looking for a relationship, but the pull they feel toward each other is too strong to deny.
They start the relationship via text while Bo is away during spring training and finally start to spend some time together once he’s back in New Orleans for the regular season. Things progress organically between them and it is SO romantic. The dates, their first kiss…
Bo is new to fame, but Charlotte has been in the limelight the majority of her life. They are at different points in their careers and seem to balance each other out until the attention gets to be too much for Charlotte. She is dealing with some things from her past that I won’t spoil because everyone should read this book.
My heart HURT when the conflict happened and I was beyond happy when it was resolved. Bo & Charlotte belong together and it was very heartwarming to see them realize that they could be together and have everything.
I also really enjoyed the baseball aspect of this book and the side characters. I am excited to read the rest of the books in this series.
*Jiffy Kate, you have ruined me. Bo Bennett is Book Boyfriend perfection. I will be talking about this book for a long, long time.
