In Stormy Weather by Chelsea Curto
Beauty in destruction, chemistry in every chase.
In Stormy Weather is a fun rivals to lovers romance with a storm chasing backdrop that gives it real edge.
Quincy and Sebastian are most compelling as a couple. He has been pining for her for years. Watching her slowly come around after holding onto a one-sided grudge was deeply satisfying. I loved watching Quincy carve out her own space in a male dominated field, and Sebastian never once asks her to be smaller to make room for him. Their Truth or Dare games become a clever way to push their communication forward. I appreciated how naturally their dynamic shifted once they decided to chase storms together for the season. There is real beauty in destruction here, and it gives their story an edge that fits the genre perfectly.
This is a well-paced read with a couple worth rooting for. There is a strong supporting cast I am already hoping to see more of. Reading this right as hurricane season started in Florida made a few moments hit too close to home, but I still had a great time with it.
This was my first Chelsea Curto book, but it will not be my last.
