Review: Spicy Little Curses by J.T. Geissinger

💀 Part of the Scared Sexy Collection (Amazon Original Stories)

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5 stars)
Genre: Paranormal Romance / Urban Fantasy
Length: Novella (~100 pages)

Spicy Little Curses is exactly what I wanted from the Scared Sexy lineup—dark, flirty, and a little bit ridiculous in the best possible way.

Petra is a journalist who doesn’t believe in ghosts, curses, or anything she can’t fact-check—until her Halloween assignment leads her to Dax Rousseau, a tattoo artist whose ink literally moves. His family’s curse runs deep, steeped in blood magic and old-world voodoo, and Petra’s arrival might be the key to breaking it. Or the final nail in his coffin.

The banter and chemistry absolutely crackle here. Petra’s sass meets Dax’s brooding intensity, and the result is pure chaotic charm. There’s tension, a touch of danger, and enough heat to fog up your e-reader. Geissinger nails that blend of spooky and sexy that the rest of the collection only tries to capture.

If you love grumpy-meets-sunshine energy, supernatural tattoos, and a New Orleans setting dripping with atmosphere, this novella delivers a fast, satisfying read that feels complete despite its length. Out of the whole anthology, this one definitely bites the hardest—and kisses the best.
